Aberavon Beach

Being spoiled with another fantastic sunny evening, I decided to head to the nearby beach of Aberavon after work. It really is a great place to spend a couple of hours and the beach affords some stunning views over Swansea and the Mumbles headland:

The place is also great for families as it hosts some excellent facilities, including a great chipshop and ice-cream parlour. I really can't recommend the place highly enough.

Mumbles Pier

Absolutely gorgeous evening down in Swansea this evening. And with the tide fairly low, I thought I would take a wander beneath Mumbles Pier. Unfortunately, my iphone 4S really does not handle low lighting conditions very well but I did manage to squeeze 3 fairly acceptable pics from the thing to post here. I hope you like them.

A Brisk Dusky Stroll

After fortifying myself with a Verdis' sundae, I took a brisk, dusky, stroll around the Mumbles prom. Despite the sun having already set, evening colours were gorgeous and the clouds quite amazing. I also had an encounter with a very friendly robin and met an even more social cat down on the seafront. A great walk, up there with the best of 2016 so far:

A Verdi's Raspberry Sundae

I had a delicious raspberry sundae down in Verdis this evening. An utterly divine experience. The place was packed with cusomers, but I still managed to snag a window table overlooking Swansea Bay. Highly, highly recommended.

Mumbles

Did a nice long walk from the seafront car park infront of Singleton Hospital to Mumbles this evening, rewarding myself with a nice 4 scoop Joe's ice-cream along the way. Was a tad sad seeing the state of the Amusements building outside the ice-cream parlour. The Amusements have been a feature of Oystermouth for as long as I can remember and I will miss them, though I do have to admit I have only actually been in there once in the last 20 years. You can see what the building used to look like here.

Mumbles itself was bathed in a dreamy blue light and, even though the sun had now set, looked stunning.

I loved how the water changed the wheels of the bike in this pic

On the way back to the car, I called in to the West Cross Inn for a coffee...

The stained glass window set in the inner entracce door of The West Cross Inn
,,,which was served with the tiniest of welshcakes, which was well tasty:

The weather forecast is a bit grim for the next few days so I don't know when I will next update this blog sorry.
